How to use Advanced IP Scanner?
When you open Advanced IP Scanner, you have the option to scan your network. However, to do this, you need to specify the IP range you want to scan. Advanced IP Scanner can automatically input the IP range by clicking the “IP Range” button.
U dont know what range to scan?
If you’re unsure which IP range to scan, you can determine it by finding your default gateway (router) and examining the subnet mask. The IP range is formed by the subnet network address and the range of host addresses within that subnet. For example, if your default gateway (router) has the IP address 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, then the IP range is likely to be 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.255. This is the range where you can find all devices on your local network.
Scan single ip
With the program, you also have the option to scan a specific address. In that case, you just need to enter the IP address into the input field.
If you want to scan the entire subnet for a specific IP address, simply press the “C” button next to the IP field. This feature automatically fills in the complete range based on the entered IP.
Scanning Multiple Ranges
If you want to scan multiple ranges, you can do so by separating them with a comma. Simply add a comma after each range.
Scanning
Once you’ve entered the desired range, you can start scanning the network by pressing the green scan button.
When you start the scan, Advanced IP Scanner will display a list of all the devices that are currently connected to the network within the specified IP range. For each device, it typically shows:
- IP Address: The unique identifier assigned to each device on the network.
- MAC Address: The hardware address of the device’s network interface.
- Device Name: If available, the name or hostname of the device.
- Manufacturer: The manufacturer of the device, if known.
- Status: Indicates whether the device is currently online or offline.
- User: The username associated with the device, if available.
- Additional Information: Some devices may have additional information listed, such as open ports or shared folders.
