How to change wifi password on Genexis router/modem

Step 1: Accessing the Genexis modem/router

  1. Open a web browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
  2. Type “http://router” into the address bar and press Enter. This is the default method to access the Genexis modem/router. If this URL doesn’t work, try the next method.

    Via the default gateway address:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the ‘Run’ dialog.
    2. Type “cmd” into the text field and click “OK” to open the command prompt.
    3. Type the command “ipconfig” and press Enter. This will provide you with a list of network adapters and their configurations.
    4. Look for the line that starts with “Default Gateway”. The IP address listed next to “Default Gateway” is the address of your router.

Step 2: Logging into the Genexis modem/router

Once you’re on the web interface, log in. The username is “admin”, and you’ll find the password on a sticker attached to the modem/router.

Step 3: Changing the Wi-Fi Password

Navigating to Wi-Fi Settings

Once you’re on the main menu, click on “Wireless.” Then, scroll down to “Configuration.”

To change the Wi-Fi password, locate the password fields under both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz sections. Enter your new password in each respective field.

Additionally, if you wish to change the Wi-Fi network name, you can do so under the “SSID” section.
Leave the other settings as default if you prefer not to make any further adjustments.

After you’ve made the necessary adjustments to your Wi-Fi settings, simply locate the “Save” button and click on it. This action ensures that all changes you’ve made, including the new password, are securely saved and applied to your network configuration.

Step4: Testing

After saving the changes, it’s essential to test your Wi-Fi connection to ensure everything is working correctly. Try connecting to your Wi-Fi network using the new password on various devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Also, check the network’s speed and stability to verify that the adjustments haven’t affected its performance. Testing ensures that your Wi-Fi network is operating smoothly with the updated settings.
