In this blog, I will explain how to get better youth players by adjusting the youth rating of a country in Football Manager. By changing the youth rating, you can have better youth intakes. In this guide, I will show you how to modify the rating, using San Marino as an example, so the country can produce wonderkids.
- Make sure that a database is loaded
- Click on “Database” on the left-hand side, then select “Nations“.
4. You will see the country appear. Double-click on the country or select it and click on “Edit“.
5. Click on “Information” on the left-hand side.
6. About halfway down, you will see a “Youth Rating” in the list. Here, you can enter a number from 0 to 200. 0 represents the worst youth rating you can choose, while 200 is the best. If you want to have the best wonderkids, you should enter 200. For reference, here are the youth ratings of other countries in FM:
- Brazil: 163
- France: 155
- Germany: 155
- Spain: 145
- Italy: 144
- Argentina: 140
- England: 135
- Portugal: 134
- Netherlands: 132
- Egypt: 125
- Turkey: 124
- Belgium: 120
- Mexico: 120
- Nigeria: 120
- Colombia: 117
- Japan: 112
- USA: 110
- Iran: 110
- Ukraine: 110
These ratings give you an idea of the youth potential each country has in the game. Adjusting the youth rating can significantly impact the quality of youth players produced by that country in Football Manager.
Now, let’s save the adjustments.
- Click on ‘Save Editor Data As…‘ then choose a name and press ‘Save.’
After saving, make sure to check the rules; otherwise, it won’t work.
Click on ‘Rules‘ and then ‘Test Rules.‘ If the rules are valid, save the database again. After this, you can open Football Manager and load your database.
