FM Editor – How to Change Prize Money in Cup Competitions

In this blog, I’ll show you how to change the prize money for cup competitions.

  1. Make sure your database is loaded.
  2.  Click on “Rules” and then on “Nation Rules.”

3. Select “Add Lower Divisions and Cups to Existing Structure.” Next, choose the nation where you want to adjust the prize money for. Then click “Finish“.

As an example, I’ll demonstrate how to change the prize money for the Dutch Cup.

4. Convert to Advanced Rules

5. On the left side, open the dropdown menu and select the cup competition.

6. Expand the cup, then navigate to “Stages,” followed by “Stage 0,” and click on “Rounds.”

Now you will see each round that is played.

7. Expand a round and then click on “General.”

Then, scroll down further, where you can adjust the prize money according to your preferences.

You have various ways in which money can be distributed:

  • Prize money for winner
  • Prize money for loser
  • Appearance money: This is money received for reaching that round. Appearance money can be specific for the away team.
  • Prize money for leg winner
  • Prize money for leg draw

Note that if you want to set the money per round, you need to do it for each round individually, not just one round.

After setting the prize money, you can test the rules and save the database.
