FM Editor – How to change suspension rules for yellow/red cards

  1. Make sure your database is loaded.
  2.  Click on “Rules” and then on “Nation Rules.”

3. Select “Add Lower Divisions and Cups to Existing Structure.” Next, choose the nation where you want to adjust the suspension rules. Then click “Finish.

As an example, I will adjust the suspension rules for the Netherlands.

4. Convert to Advanced Rules.

5. Now on the left side, ensure you have the country selected, in this case, it is the Netherlands. Then expand “Netherlands” and click on “Discipline Rules.”

6. You will now see a list of rules, which will look like this. Remember, this will vary for each country.

The rules you see are for the league, cup, and Standard. The standard rule apply when it is not a league or cup match.

7. Click on a rule, and you will see the settings open up. Then scroll down to “Yellow card/points rules.

8. Change the sequence to your liking.

I have set it up so that with 5 yellow cards, there’s a 1-match suspension. For 10, 11, etc. yellow cards, each results in a 1-match suspension.

9.You can also adjust the rules for a red card under “Red card suspension rules.” Here, you can specify how many games a player should be suspended after receiving a red card, or you can choose to have no suspension after receiving a red card.
